Leyla Yüksel reconstructs feminine emotions in her paintings through an abstract–figurative language. Emphasizing the plastic elements of painting, the artist also seeks to highlight temporality in her work. In her compositions, she uses drawing and color together in rhythmic layers. Although she works primarily with oil on canvas, she aims to convey how rapidly the possibilities of artistic production are transforming with the advancement of technology.

Born in Artvin in 1964, Leyla Yüksel graduated from the Painting Department of the Faculty of Education at Uludağ University in 1986. She has provided art education and practice in many educational institutions, while continuing her artistic work in her own studio. She has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. She has organized workshops in various cultural centers and taken part in many national and international events and fairs. Her works are included in private and corporate collections. She continues her artistic practice in her own studio.
